COMMUNITY FAIR

September 12th, 2009

The Pound Ridge Lions Club Community Fair will be held on Saturday from Noon to 5PM at the Pound Ridge Town Park.  In the event of severe inclement weather such as hurricane or major liquid sunshine, the fair will be rescheduled for Sunday.  Over 35 organizations will have display tables with information about their organization or community based business.  Some of the activities at this year’s fair are denoted below.   Additional Parking at School with the Neighbor to Neighbor bus making round trip runs from the park to school every 15 minutes.

FIELD COMPITITIONS

These will be standard old fashion races for youth as well as adults. Competitions run from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.  All participants receive Great Job Stickers and 1st through 3rd Place Ribbons will be awards.

 

CARNIVAL TYPE GAMES

We will have twelve carnival type games that can be played for a donation of $2.00 each.   Prizes for these games will be awarded.  Everyone plays until they win for the $2.00 fee.

 

CLIMBING WALL

For a fee of $4 (Two Tickets) you can attempt to climb a 20 foot tower.

 

INFLATABLES

For a fee of $2 (One Ticket) you can experience one of our inflatables.

FOOD

Our Town Supervisor and select members of the Town Board will be cooking and serving the standard BARBECUE delights along with the Chief of Police.  Additionally, popcorn, ice cream, soda, candy and coffee will be available.

 

OPEN CONTESTS

Pie Eating Contests; a Peanut Hunt as well as several Tug of War Competitions throughout the day.  All participants receive Great Job Stickers and 1ST Place Ribbons will be awarded.

 

50/50 CASH RAFFLE

We start selling our 50/50 Cash Raffle tickets in June and continue through 4PM on the Fair date.  Last year the winner walked away with over $1,700. 

SILENT AUCTION

We will have many items of potential interest being auctioned off.  We have weekend houses, sailing trips, and golf rounds.  We also have a special category consisting of ride -a-longs with the Police Chief and Fire Department during the Memorial Day Parade as well as a Town Supervisor Shadow program.
