Lions and VCB have been linked since 1951 when the camp, which was
incorporated in 1926, moved to Over the past Lions from throughout the area participate each year in the
Lions VCB Work Weekends and on the Lions Recognition Day, the first Sunday in
August. We support the VCB Golf Outing and purchase engraved bricks at $100
each, chairs at $500 each and benches at $1,000 that are placed around the
Camp. Additionally we make financial
contributions for "camperships" throughout the year, enabling VCB
to continue its open-door policy of never turning away a participant due to
inability to pay the full cost currently at $1,100 per camper for an
11-night/12-day stay. We collect,
donate and deliver items from the "VCB Wish List." And we help
maintain the 45 buildings at VCB through the "Adopt-A-Building"
program. VISIONS Center on Blindness is owned and operated by VISIONS/Services for
the Blind and Visually Impaired, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 agency with
headquarters at 500 Greenwich Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10013. Our toll
free number is 1-888-245-8333. VISIONS is proud to have 7 Lions, including 3
PDG, serving on the agency's Board of Directors. Overall, the agency is proud
to share its accomplishment of 88% of our annual expenses spent on programs services
with only 12% spent on administration and fund raising. All |
